Marketing & Operations Senior Executive - Ice Cream

Kind Kones is Malaysia's first all-natural vegan ice cream scoop shop. The ice creams are vegan and free from dairy, refined sugar, soy, gluten, and other artificial additives. The shops also serve a selection of desserts that are healthier alternatives to conventional versions usually loaded with sugar and unhealthy fats. Kind Kones strives to provide a better way to indulge in sweet treats guided by a philosophy of being kind to your body, the environment, and to others.


WHY working on vegan ice cream is exciting right now! 

The global vegan ice cream market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.79% from 2018-2022, according to a report by Technavio. The expanding global vegan population is a major factor driving the market’s growth. “Over the last decade, the number of people adopting veganism and opting for vegan diets has increased by about 300%,” according to the report.

A key market trend is the rising popularity of vegan ice cream among Millennials. The take-home vegan ice cream segment held the largest market share (nearly 52%) in 2017, while the fastest-growing product, artisanal vegan ice cream, will make up almost 8% of the total market share by 2022.

The Americas dominated the market in 2017 with around 45% share. But by 2022, the Asia Pacific market is expected to witness the highest growth in terms of market share around the world.

That said, veganism is still a novel concept in Malaysia, so offline (high touch) marketing is crucial to educating and activating customers. That said, the role entails:

  • Being highly involved in ensuring all marketing translates at the store level. (as with most roles related to food & beverage, the role is ops heavy)
  • Coordinating community building initiatives, inclusive of executing event activations that drive company brand awareness, audience growth, positive sentiment and loyalty.
  • Communicating with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure event timelines and deadlines are successfully achieved.
  • Assisting with the evaluation of incoming event inquiries that align with company's brand values and will drive brand/product activation.
  • Playing an active role in the company’s social media to drive brand awareness, product education and ultimately sales. This includes content creation and customer service. This is usually the part where you get to taste test new products ;)
  • Managing customer service across platforms (email, social media, online, etc.) to engage and retain customers (B2C and B2B).
  • Assisting Operations Manager with product costing to evaluate and optimize business growth.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience.
  • Proactive with very strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of events management best practice, tools and opportunities.
  • Comfortable with basic math.
  • Creative - able to think from different perspectives in different situations and under pressure.
  • Able to work autonomously with good time management skills and proactive about problem-solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to liaise in a professional manner with all levels of staff/management and external contacts.
  • Flexible work hours as per events and outlet operating hours.
  • Basic design skills a HUGE plus.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
  • Office will be relocating to Plaza Damansara in Nov 2018, so you'll have the chance to have input in decorating it!
